Feature:
No frills, just hook it up. Be nice to have some response curves in the next iteration.
Quality:
Three year old and still ticking.
Value:
No one can beat this value. C3000 is probably closet in quality but is a third more $$.
Desirability:
Wouldn’t mind having another - or better a matched pair just for fun.
Sound:
This mic can be used to capture great vocals but setup is very critical because it has a smaller sweet spot range than more expensive mics. I have also had some troubles with explosive from a few performers, especially ’K’s’.
Overall:
I bought this mic to hold me over until I got a 414, I still don’t have a 414... given the choice of course I’d take a number of more expensive mics, but the value on the nt1 is just too nice to ever pass up. If you are half-way skilled this mic can be lovely.
